The small town of Modena, Italy has been aging trebbiano grape musts in wooden barrels since the 11th century. The result was an intensely sweet vinegar reserved mostly for visiting dignitaries and local competition. This Vecchia special reserve balsamic vinegar has been aged 12 years. It has an intoxicating aroma and pungent sweetness, perfect for vinaigrettes or for drizzling over ripe tomatoes or roasted lamb. Its graceful bottle is packaged in an elegant gift box with a rope handle.
